Un voraz incendio consumía una vivienda, mientras que sus afligidos dueños sufrían por no haber podido rescatar a su amada perra. Fue entonces cuando los heroicos bomberos de Saugus, en Estados Unidos, arriesgaron sus vidas para rescatarla.
 El 20 de noviembre de 2014, los bomberos de Saugus entraron en un incendio para rescatar a "Lucy," una pequeña perra blanca y negra de 10 años que había quedado atrapada dentro de su casa en llamas. Gracias a las acciones heroicas de estos hombres, la mascota se salvó y se reunió con su dueña, María Pike.
Lucy, fue encontrada escondida debajo de una cama en el primer piso mientras el fuego devastó los niveles superiores de la casa que era de estructura de madera. La perrita se asustó cuando la operación de los bomberos comenzó ... y encontraron al animal debajo de la cama, sacándola justo a tiempo y llevándola de vuelta con sus dueños. 
La perdida material fue cuantiosa, sin embargo, para la familia, en especial para Mary Pike, poder tener nuevamente a su mejor amiga en sus brazos ha sido lo mejor que le pudo pasar.

A raging fire consumed a house while its owners suffered distress at being unable to rescue his beloved dog. That's when Saugus heroic firefighters in the United States, risked their lives to rescue her. The November 20, 2014, firefighters entered in the burning house to rescue "Lucy," a small white and black dog of 10 y/o who had been trapped inside her burning house. Thanks to the heroic actions of these men, the pet was saved and reunited with her owner, Mary Pike.Lucy, was found hidden under a bed on the first floor while the fire devastated the upper levels of the wooden structure house. The dog was startled when the fire operation startyed ... and found the animal under the bed, pulling her out just in time and taking her back to their owners.The material loss was substantial, however, for the family, especially Mary Pike, to have her best friend in her arms again was the best thing that could happen.

Rescate de un gatito atrapado. Trapped kitten rescue

Los fuertes maullidos de un gato alertaron a un vecino de Johnston, un pueblo de Rhode Island (EEUU), de que algo estaba ocurriendo detrás de su casa. Cuando salió a ver qué sucedía, encontró al animal atrapado entre dos rocas desde hacía al menos dos días. Finalmente fue liberado por los bomberos y ya ha sido adoptado por una familia.

Erin Medeiros, una oficial de la protectora de animales que acudió al rescate, cuenta que cuando encontró al animal, hambriento y asustado, era imposible liberarle, así que inmediatamente llamó a los bomberos. Estos se sirvieron de las ‘mandíbulas de la vida’, unas herramientas hidráulicas utilizadas en la extracción de víctimas de accidentes automovilísticos.

El gatito estaba lleno de pulgas y deshidratado, pero tras rehidratarle y un baño desinfectante se encontraba estupendamente.

Loud meowing of a cat alerted a neighbor of Johnston, a town in Rhode Island (USA), that something was happening behind his house. When he went out to see what was happening, he found a kitten trapped between two large construction boulders for at least two days. He was finally released by firefighters and has already been adopted by a family.

Erin Medeiros, an official for the protection of animals came to the rescue. When she found the animal, hungry and frightened, and could not free him, so she immediately called for help to the fire department. They had to use the 'jaws of life', a hydraulic tools used in extracting victims of car accidents.

The kitten was riddled with fleas and dehydrated, but after rehydrate with some fluids and a disinfectant bath was great.

Piloto salva la vida de un perro. Pilot diverts airplane to save a dog

Un piloto de la aerolínea Air Canada desvió un vuelo internacional que cubría la ruta Tel Aviv-Toronto para salvar la vida de Simba, un bulldog francés de 7 años que viajaba a bordo. Cuando la aeronave se disponía a entrar en el Atlántico, el piloto se percató que había un fallo en la calefacción del compartimento de carga, por lo que no dudó en cambiar el itinerario y solicitar un aterrizaje en Frankfurt (Alemania) para evitar la muerte por congelación del perro.

Al entrar en la zona del Atlántico, la temperatura puede caer hasta los -40º y -60º, algo que supondría la inevitable muerte del can si efectivamente había un fallo en el sistema de calefacción y la temperatura descendía tanto.

Por ello, el piloto, cuya identidad no ha sido revelada debido a que se ha abierto una investigación, pidió de manera urgente aterrizar en el aeropuerto de Frankfurt, Alemania. La explicación que dio a la torre de control del aeropuerto germano fue simple: "Soy responsable de todas las vidas en el avión, tanto humanas como caninas".
Tras un parón de dos horas, que se calcula que le puede haber costado algo más de 10.000$ a Air Canada, el vuelo siguió su rumbo. El perro acabó llegando a Toronto, pero más tarde, ya que al confirmarse la avería, voló en otro avión hasta Canadá donde le esperaba su dueño que estaba más que feliz y agradecido.
"Es mi perro, es como mi hijo. Lo es todo para mi" dijo tras reunirse con él en el Aeropuerto de Pearson.

An Air Canada pilot is being credited with saving a dog’s life by diverting a flight from Tel Aviv to Toronto after a heating system malfunction in the plane’s cargo area. The seven-year-old French bulldog named Simba was taking its first flight when the pilot noticed the problem just as the plane was about to head over the Atlantic Ocean, where temperatures plummet until minus 40º or 60º, something that would mean the freeze death of the dog.
With the dog’s well-being in peril the pilot decided to land the plane in Frankfurt, Germany. The explanation given to the control tower of the german airport was simple: “The captain is responsible for all lives on board, whether it’s human or canine”
After a 2 hours stop the flight continued its journey. Simba was placed on another flight and the plane continued on to Toronto.
The dog’s owner was more than grateful.
“It’s my dog, it’s like my child. It’s everything to me,” he said after they were reunited at Pearson Airport.
The pilot made the right call, despite tacking on about $10,000 in fuel costs and delaying the flight by 75 minutes.

Sniffer y Tinni, la amistad entre un perro y un zorro. Sniffer and Tinni, the friendship between a dog and a fox.

Esta increíble historia que puede parecer un cuento es muy parecida a la que recreó Disney en su clásico "Tod y Toby" pero real como la vida misma.
Tinni es una perra que vive en Noruega junto a su dueño, el fotógrafo Torgeir Berge. Un día  dando un paseo por el bosque se encontraron a Sniffer, un lindo zorrito. Desde entonces son inseparables y se han convertido en verdaderos amigos.
Desde entonces su dueño se ha convertido en un activista en contra del comercio de la piel del zorro en Noruega. Para este fin ha editado un libro sobre su amistad "El zorro y el perro" y cuyos beneficios destinará a esta causa.

This incredible story that may sound like a fairy tale, is really similar to Disney´s classic "Tod and Toby" but this story is real.

Tinni is a dog who lives in Norway with her owner, the photographer Torgeir Berge. A day going for a walk through the forest, they found Sniffer, a cute red fox. Since that moment they are inseparable and have become true friends.
And this is the reason why their owner has become a campaigner against fur fox in Norway trade. For this purpose he has published a book about their friendship "the fox and the dog" and whose benefits go to this anti-fur cause.

El 16 de marzo de 2011 el superintendente de un edificio de viviendas en Newark, Nueva Jersey encontró un perro al borde de la muerte en el fondo del conducto de basura envuelto en una bolsa de plástico segundos antes de que fuera engullido por la trituradora de basura. 

El perro se encontraba tembloroso, hambriento, demacrado y  sus rescatadores creen que no hubiera sobrevivido ni un día mas por las pésimas condiciones en las que se encontraba. El propietario lo dejó atado a una verja durante una semana sin recibir ningún tipo de atención ni alimento.

Le pusieron el nombre de Patrick porque fue descubierto el día antes de San Patricio. Fue atendido por los servicios veterinarios y tuvieron que retirarle una bola gigante de pelo del estómago para que pudiera volver a comer. Le pusieron suero intravenoso y su temperatura era tan baja que ni siquiera era registrada por el termómetro. Pesaba 8,5 kilos cuando llegó al hospital. Ahora pesa 22 kilos.

Patrick tiene una página propia de internet y su caso se hizo mundialmente famoso, recibiendo multitud de donaciones para ayudar a sufragar su tratamiento.

Su dueña fue acusada de maltrato, desatención y abandono.

A pesar de que es una historia con final feliz, ojalá nuca tuvieramos que leer casos como el de Patrick y de una vez por todas la gente fuera responsable y tratara a los animales con dignidad.

On  March 16, 2011 the Superintendent of a building in Newark, New Jersey found a dog on the brink of death at the bottom of the trash chute wrapped in a  plastic bag just seconds before he would have been swallowed up by the trash compacter.

The dog was trembling, starving, emaciated and wrapped in a plastic bag and his rescuers think that had not survived a day more for the terrible conditions in which he was found. The owner left him tied to a fence for a week without receiving any attention or food.

He was named  Patrick because he was discovered the day before St. Patrick. he was attended by the veterinary services and they had to remove a giant ball of hair in the stomach so he could eat again. They put him on intravenous fluid and his temperature was so low that it was not even registered by the thermometer. He weighed 19 pounds when he arrived at the hospital. He now weighs 50 pounds.

Patrick has an own Facebook page and his case became internationally famous, receiving many donations to help defray his treatment.

His owner was accused of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Although this is a happy ending story, I hope we never had that read cases as Patrick's and once and for all people were responsible and treat the animals with dignity.
