El Proyecto Yellow Dog es un movimiento mundial para los propietarios de perros que necesitan espacio. Se espera enseñar al público y a los los propietarios de perros para identificar aquellos perros que necesitan espacio, promover el contacto adecuado con los perros y de ayudar a los propietarios de perros a identificar a su perro como "necesitado de espacio". Este proyecto se originó en Suecia y ahora hay involucrados alrededor de 20 países.
Perros amarillos son perros que necesitan espacio, no son necesariamente perros agresivos, pero a menudo son perros que tienen problemas de miedo, dolor por una cirugía reciente, son perros adoptados o perros de refugio que todavía no han tenido la suficiente formación o entrenamiento en obediencia, están en formación para ciertos trabajos o servicios, se encuentran ocupados trabajando, u otras razones.
El Proyecto de Yellow Dog busca enseñar los medios adecuados para acercarse o ponerse en contacto con un perro con permiso sólo del dueño, si el perro está identificado como un "perro amarillo". También tratan de promover el uso de cintas amarillas para identificar perros amarillos que necesitan espacio extra.
No es un proyecto con ánimo de lucro, por eso todos los fondos recaudados / donaciones se utilizan para comprar más material para cintas, camisetas para los representantes, y los carteles.
The Yellow Dog Project is a global movement for owners of dogs that need space. It hopes to educate the public and dog owners to identify dogs needing space, promote appropriate contact of dogs and assist dog parents to identify their dog as needing space. This is a project that was originated in Sweden and now involves around 20 different countries.
Yellow Dogs are dogs who need space - they are not necessarily aggressive dogs but more often are dogs who have issues of fear; pain from recent surgery; are a rescue or shelter dog who has not yet had sufficient training or mastered obedience; are in training for work or service; are in service; or other reasons specific to the dog.
The Yellow Dog Project seeks to educate appropriate ways to approach or make contact with a dog with permission of a dog owner only, whether or not a dog is a “yellow dog”. They also seek to promote the use of yellow ribbons to identify yellow dogs needing extra space.
As a not for profit organization, all of the monies raised/donated are used to buy more material for ribbons, t-shirts for representatives, and posters for display.
